Muslim Friendly Food Options in Jeju Ⅲ_10 Seafood Restaurants

Still think it’s hard to find halal or pork-free foods on Jeju? It might be true, since as of June 2019,

there is only one Halal restaurant on Jeju; however, the abundance of fresh seafood on Jeju is absolutely

charming the taste buds of any gourmet.

Original Jeju cuisine doesn’t win any points for complexity; fresh seafood as a main ingredient, rice and

a little bit of seasoning. Local travelers typically take care of their breakfast with seafood rice porridge and

dish up fresh sashimi for dinner. Sashimi might be unfamiliar to some Muslim travelers.

But fret not! Certainly it’s impossible not to find a variety of other seafood options on Jeju Haha.

          · Note: Although the eateries here are all pork-free, many of them do serve alcohol, just like many other restaurants in Korea.

III. The freshest and tastiest_10 Seafood Restaurants

Many seafood restaurants on Jeju are named ‘OO횟집 (Seafood or ‘Hoetjip’ in Korean)’ or ‘OO수산(Susan), meaning sashimi (raw fish). However, almost all also offer a variety of seafood cuisine as well; grilled cutlassfish or mackerel, braised cutlassfish, or seafood stew. At restaurants named “OO해녀의집 (Female Divers’ House or ‘Haenyeoeuijip’ in Korean)” typically run by Jeju haenyeos (female divers), seafood porridges like crab porridge and abalone porridge will set your taste buds into party mode. ‘OO’ in the name of those eateries refers its location.

Here is Pippi’s third food guide for Muslim travelers… “Fresh seafood restaurants in Jeju”
